We can make you squirm in your seat with two words... un-arranged resources. At some point in your life, you've probably found yourself sitting on the floor, drowning in documents and sheets of paper. This situation is not ideal, it always ends in an argument with whoever is in the closest proximity to me.

So what's the solution? Digitising your study material and other resources in a fashion that makes them easy to access, share and review. We’ve got a pretty systematic process, to make this a little easier for you. Five steps to clear the clutter:

STEP 1

Start by sorting the study material in a logical order that suits you best. My personal preference is segregating notes for different subjects, and further dividing them according to the lesson covered, under the appropriate heading.

STEP 2

Scan your notes, and create files for each subject. This may seem a little tedious, but you will thank yourself for doing this soon enough. You can also convert the scanned PDFs into text documents that can be edited with the help of an OCR (optical character recognition). There are several software to pick from but Online OCR is a free and easy-to-use solution.

STEP 3

Spruce up your notes with visual data! Statistics and numbers can be converted into pie charts and bar graphs and text-heavy content can be depicted in colorful reports and flow charts. It is a well known fact that retaining information is easier when depicted visually.

STEP 4

Upload your documents on a cloud based server, this allows you easy access and review. Choose a platform that gives you the flexibility of sharing your documents on access permission basis. Check Classcard, which is an end-to-end ERP software, specially designed for education. You can also allow other staff members and students to collaborate on these resources, which will make your repository of notes, extremely rich.

STEP 5

Make your content more comprehensible with tutorials and lectures available on the web. Youtube is becoming an increasingly popular platform, where experts compare their notes about various subjects. Channels like Khan Academy and Byju’s will aid your resources and make learning fun! Bite the bullet, and thank us for the saved time and effort, later!

TL;DR: Sort - Scan - Elaborate data, digitally. - Upload, Share and Collaborate. - Make use of the existing content online. - Enjoy a coffee in the time you saved.
